Aerowaves
Aerowaves is a pan-European dance art platform that offers an international springboard for choreographers to start an international career, allowing them to present their creations and cross-border experience and collaboration. The Aerowaves partner network brings together 44 members from 34 European countries, consisting of experts in their field, such as dance house curators, artistic directors, producers, festival curators, freelance dance art experts, etc. Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava (STL) has been the estonian partner of Aerowaves since 2021.
Platform activities:
Aerowaves Spring Forward – an annual dance festival hosted by various partners in different European countries, where 20 of the most exciting performances by European dance artists are presented which are selected from those who applied for Aerowaves. About 250 global dance experts visit the Aerowaves Spring Forward festival every year, which makes it one of the most important international gatherings of the dance community. Over 20 performances, discussions, conversations and meetings will take place during the 3-day festival.
StartUp Forum – an additional program of Aerowaves, which is aimed at new producers, giving them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Aerowaves performances and support for presenting performances in their home country in a context that suits them.
Springback Academy – an additional program of Aerowaves, which supports dance writers by enabling them to make contacts with dance artists and providing mentor support for writing and output in Springback media.
Aerowaves Podcast – A new Aerowaves initiative designed to explore and report on internationally significant dance events and activities. For example, Aerowaves Podcast covered the Riga festival of the Baltic Dance Platform.
