Residencies

There are different types of residencies at Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava:

• Research residency programme for dance artists and researchers during the whole season. Six to seven artists/researchers were chosen to articulate their movement and artistic practices (artistic research, practice as research, movement research). The research residency offers monthly lectures and seminars as a support for independent work. The lectures are free and open for everyone.
• residencies from international programs (MODI, MOVI, MODINA)
• residencies with season topic like dance critisim residency or public space residency
• The house artists in residency, to whom this kind of format offers the possibility to study and execute one’s idea through a longer time period and more variable means than creating a new production would. The house artists in residency rotate in every two years – not active at the moment.
• PREMIERE residents – residents that are part of an international platform meant for up and coming choreographers during which five choreographers get the residency and mentoring throughout creating their first full-length dance performance.
