I Watch Air Move
Mechanical theatre
In Je brasse de l’air (“I Watch Air Move”) we see Magali Rousseau, the creator of miscellaneous stage mechanisms and props, among fantastical poetic and fragile machines that operate on steam and pedal power. They move independently, they swirl and spin, drag and limp and try to fly away… Interpreting a simple, personal and moving text, Magali Rousseau and her “illusory theatre” create a true fantasy world.
Magali Rousseau did her training in the “objects” department at the ESAD in Strasbourg: she builds all sorts of scenic mechanisms and stage props. In Je brasse de l’air (I watch air move), we can see her perform among fantastic poetic and fragile machines that work thanks to cranks, pedals and steam, which move on their own, turn and roll around, drag along and limp and try to fly away… Her « illusory theatre » creates a real fantasy as she interprets a simple, personal and touching text.
Festival NuQ Treff focuses on theatre forms that tell stories through visual language. The program showcases modern puppetry and object theatre productions as well as performance art and many other forms of theatre.
