HELP!
Not shouting, but silently thinking.
Everyone has lied about it.
To expect black or white
is not hypocritical.
If you MUST mess with the journey!
Why not rest your head
with the emptiness in the end?
The installation “Immanents” by dance and performance artist Rene Köster will be open from the 10th until 15th of June at Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava. The installation is a part of the European project Performing Arts for the Next Generation (PANG).
“Immanents” is a continuation of the queer-themed performance “Transcendentia” created in collaboration with Köster and ten young people which premiered on the 17th of October 2023 at Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava. The audience is invited to watch and also contribute to the elements in the exhibition.
While transcendence in Latin means the existence beyond the ordinary and sees the experience of divinity beyond the material world, immanence is its opposite. It represents either a person, the world, or the quality of remaining within the limits of the mind. The doctrine of immanence states that the divine plane encompasses the material world and manifests in it.
The installation continues the theme of the performance, but reverses the purpose. Explosiveness and searching for answers in freedom now turns into exploration in the depths and drowning in oneself. As a lifeline, a pen and paper hangs down from the heights, with which to pull yourself out of your thoughts…
Project PANG is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
