In January 2019, Sõltumatu Tantsu Lava is hosting a residency for performance artists Laura Marleena Halonen, Tom Lönnqvist, Marjut Maristo and Kristian Palmu and producer Riikka Thitz for a project called ‘Inter-floral Mint Box”. The first showing of the project takes place on January 8. at 7pm.

‘Inter-floral Mint Box’ is an interactive and experience-based performance and installation that is created within the color mint green. The performance is built upon audiovisual happenings and transitions that align with performance-based happenings (for example the performers’ mint green phrases and interactive participatory tasks).

The ‘Inter-floral Mint Box’ performance happening is created by performance artists Laura Marleena Halonen, Tom Lönnqvist, Marjut Maristo and Kristian Palmu and producer Riikka Thitz in a collective process, the starting points being the mint green shade of color and “interfloral” ways of communication. The working process seizes the suggested textual material of mint green, the shade manifesting itself as space and sound within the artwork. Interflorality, within the artwork, is a way of being adopted from plants that embraces slowness, roots, and mycelium like connections among the participants.
